SUMMIT ON SCIENCE EDUCATION

Science Education in the Digital Era

A summit on Science Education organized by Talentspire was conducted at Mascot Hotel, Trivandrum on 17th May, 2019.


Padma Vibhushan Dr. G Madhavan Nair, Former Chairman of ISRO opened the deliberations with thought provoking insights on Science Education in the country. Padma Vibhushan Dr. Krishnaswamy Kasturirangan, Former Chairman ISRO and Former Chancellor JNU gave a video message and touched upon the current policy on Education.  Padma Shri. M. Chandradathan, Scientific Advisor to Chief Minister of Kerala and former Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Trivandrum presented an optimistic view on Education in the country.

Other luminaries like Mr. S. Somanath, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, Dr. P. P. Chandrachoodan, Program Officer (Retd) Board of Research in Nuclear Sciences, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Dr. Oommen V Oommen, Former Chairman, Kerala Biodiversity Board, Dr. S K Satheesh, Chairman, Divecha Centre for Climate Change, at Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Dr. Suresh Das, Former Executive Vice President, KSCSTE & Principal Secretary to Govt., Science & Technology Department, Dr. Achutshankar S Nair, Head – Dept of Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, University of Kerala, Dr. Radhika Ramachandran, Director, Space Physics Laboratory, ISRO, Dr. M. Muneer, Expert Columnist, Management Consultant and Mr. Hrishikesh Nair, CEO, Kerala IT Parks, Govt of Kerala shared their perceptions and views on Science Education in the country.


The highlight of the program was the panel discussion on Science Education in the Digital Era with all these eminent personalities in the panel and around 200 participants including administrators, principals, teachers and other stakeholders. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Achutshankar S Nair. In the meeting, Talentspire felicitated the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award and Infosys prize winner Dr. S K Satheesh, and presented him with Talentspire Innovation award on his relentless effort on protecting nature.
